Missing Plecostomus
I had purchased a plecostemus (weird looking fish) and a catfish for my daughter’s fish tank last week, which my daughter named the pleco "Leroy". (Yes, Krystal, she made that one up all by her self. I will give you the rest of the name another day. I was surpirsed and laughing my ass off when she told me. haha) As soon as they entered the tank, the pleco attached himself to the glass and the catfish swam around like a mad man (fish) and settled into his favorite dark cove.
Two days ago, I went into my daughter’s room to feed the fish because she was at work and I couldn’t find the pleco. I looked everywhere - in the tank. I thought, eh - he must be in the cat house (catfish cove). No worries… next day… pleco still missing. Could he still be in the cat house? Possible, but I don’t want to disturb the catfish in his cove, I have done that one to many times already. So, finally last night (day 3), I decided to investigate further. Took the cove out and there was no Leroy.
We do have a top on the tank and a light. Only space available for him to get out is a 1 inch opening next to the filter. I called for my husband because I couldn’t look behind her dresser without some help. He grabbed a flashlight and looked under her dresser and there he was… dried up like an anchoive. Poor Leroy. I feel sad that he rather jump out of the tank, than to live in harmony with the rest of the fishies.
So, after work, I will stop by the fish store and purchase another one. This time, I hope he won’t be so stupid.

Back before my parents split, they had a fish tank with an eel in it, on a dresser, next to one of those metal heaters. Mr. Eel, in his infinite brilliance, used to “escape.” One nite, he “escaped” all right. He also missed the floor, if y’know what I’m sayin’…..

Hahaha… stupid fish.
Do you get a refund from the store for your sucidal fish?
Liz says:
HAHA, I told the lady what happened and she just laughed and followed that by an Awww. Oh well, no worries. I this one seems to be acting better than the other one did, so maybe this one has more sense.

Oh, that’s so sad.
I have a pleco in my 36 gallon tank. He’s been in there for as long as the cichilds have. He’s pretty big. He disappears for a few days, but he always shows up again. They have weird behavior, that’s for sure.
I hope the next one lasts…

I would love to get some cichlids and probably will do so later. The gouramis are doing well and are getting bigger. Eventually, I am sure I will need a bigger tank. Right now, all’s good.

Email me so I can see what happens to the fish!!!!

I’m not sure what the deal is there with the password request. Hmmm. Well, your comment was added so thats a good thing.
Let me know if the password thing happens again. Maybe there was a small hiccup with the server at the moment you were commenting.
