Cute, eh?
Ok, so I have been really slacking on my blog. I am really enjoying my summer and it has only just begun.
Quick update on things…
I found this little guy in my garden by the front door. This little snake was about as round as a #2 pencil and only a foot long. I don’t think much of snakes, but this one is adorable. We tried to catch him, but he was quick.
My son had his written test for Fairfax County last Saturday. He was one of 250 people. He has been accepted to participate in the PAT and he is scheduled to start PAT training with the County next month. We are still waiting to hear back from the Federal FF job. He was told it could be 2 or 3 weeks before he hears something. Keeping our fingers crossed. He was able to sell his SUV but not for what he wanted. But since he started to get antsy about selling it, he sold it for a very cheap 2900.00.
We went to look at our shed finally. It too is adorable. I can’t wait till we can pay it off and they deliver it.
The quality is excellent. We have never been happier.
I’m still going to the gym constantly but I feel that it is a worthless effort. I haven’t seen any changes in over a month. My weight continues to fluctuate give or take 5 pounds and it is very frustrating. Hubby signed up to a gym that is a little closer to home and they have an outside pool. Even thought I belong to a different gym, he got me a membership at the new place so that I can use the pool and the gym on the off hours, when the other place is closed. I love the pool. I’ve been there every day after work since he got us the membership.
Since the new gym has a racketball court, my husband went to Dick’s to buy some rackets for he and son, so that they can play together. While he was there, he purchased a new pair of tennis shoes. Well, he came home with 2 pairs of tennis shoes, but he didn’t realize this. I was looking at the goodies he brought home and opened the tennis shoe box and was like "oh, um, these are nice" (picture the color of this here snake and you get the idea of what these shoes looked like) . He says, "What? Those aren’t what I bought!!!" Then he grabs the bag with his new white tennis shoes. I look at the receipt and low and behold, he didn’t pay for the green ones. We drove back to Dick’s to return them and because of our honesty, the manager gave us a nice gift card to use in the store.
So I bought myself a new workout outfit.
So, other than enjoying the weather (I love hot weather), continuing my classes (ugh) and hanging at the pool, the summer thus far has been pretty uneventful. Saturday I am going with my son to a "controlled" burn (house fire) for Hartwood. The Hartwood department is hosting this burn and has invited our department to participate in this. These burns provide an opportunity for the fire fighters to practice and learn fire fighting techniques. Starts at 8:00 am. I get to be the photographer. I think it will be pretty interesting.
… guess it wasn’t much of a quick update. heh.

Hang in there on the gym thing. Sometimes our bodies take a little break and then make big changes. Or it could be you need to shake up your routine a little. Either way - you’ll get through just fine. Always here if you need a little encouragement.

Thanks Gayle, I appreciate your encouragement. It is a struggle. I am going to shake it up a bit and do three days of just protein and greens. No salt, no sugar and see if that kicks my motabolism’s ass in gear.

I admire you for working out so much! Don’t worry, it shows. You’re looking awesome.
Liz says:
I hate snakes too, but he is a cutie.
Thanks for that.
