Time for a little good news…
though we are feeling a little gun shy about it. My son was finally offered a paid firefighter position with the Federal Government!!!! We are so excited about it and nervous at the same time. He has applied at so many places and has tried and tried to get in somewhere and he finally did it. There are some requirements that he will need to meet and it will be a while before we will know for sure if he met those. That is why we are feeling a little gun shy about. I don’t want to jinx anything by talking about it. I think it is terrific and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the good will outweigh anything bad and he will be set for life with a great job! So,
Cheers to you my son. I have always been proud of you and will continue to be, no matter what. I Love You, Mom.

Awesome news. I’ve been watching the second season of Rescue Me these days, so that particular vocation has been on my mind.
I don’t know much about the job, but I think I’d be quite happy being a hero all the time. Not that the job is all guts and glory, but I think people become firefighters to help others and it takes a special type to want to do that every day on a job.
I hope he gets great satisfaction out of his new job and it goes on to become a very long, rewarding career for him.
Thanks Shep. I agree, it does take a special kind of person. Rescue me is awesome, you have to catch up, Season 4 is on now.

Thanks Gayle. We are staying positive. The offer letter finally came yesterday and it says “TENTATIVE” so we are hopeful.
